Walking Programme

Walking Programme.

I am a trained guide walker and I am happy to create a programme for you that will suit your specific needs. If you would like to start off with a gentle walking programme then we can build up as you gain your strength and stamina that is fine or we can start off by doing some power walking, it's up to you. I will be able to get you motivated and start you on your way to feeling better, feeling more in control and feeling great.

Very often people who face challenges do not know where to begin when making the positive changes and can get stuck in a rut.

I am here to help and I am able to do this in two ways.

First I offer effective hypnotherapy sessions that really help.

Secondly I will encourage you to take up walking. Walking really helps you become motivated, more active and more determined because you whilst you are walking you are being proactive.

Walking is one of the easiest and cheapest way to exercise. Experts agree that you should get 30 minutes of moderate-level physical activity on most days of the week. Walking is one of these activities. There are also several health benefits of walking, such as reducing your risk of medical conditions (such as high blood pressure and heart disease), reducing depression, and helping you sleep better.

You can even divide the 30 minutes into shorter periods of at least 10 minutes each.

Specific Walking Benefits:

• It reduces your risk of dying from heart disease or stroke

• It lowers your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, colon cancer and diabetes

• It lowers high blood pressure (hypertension)

• It protects against falling and bone fractures in older adults

• It may protect against certain types of cancer, such as breast cancer

• It increases the number of calories your body uses, which helps to control your weight

• It helps control joint swelling and pain from arthritis

Regular physical activity, such as walking, can also make you feel better, because it:

 

Helps keep your bones, muscles and joints healthy Helps you handle stress

Helps you feel more energetic Helps you sleep better Improves your self-esteem Gives you an opportunity to socialise actively with friends and family
