FAQ What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis can be described as an altered state of consciousness where the subconscious mind is open to suggestion and will be able to accept ideas and thoughts which will be of benefit to the whole being. In hypnosis, it is possible to consider new perspectives and discover inner strengths to help you achieve your goals, overcome fears and make positive changes in your habits or patterns of thoughts.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a two-way activity. It requires the full co-operation of the client for it to be successful. The client must: Want it to happen Expect it to happen Allow it to happen
What does it feel like?
Hypnosis is a very pleasant experience. You will be fully conscious of what is being said to you and you have may have full recollection afterwards, don't worry if you don't because your subconscious mind will have listened to it all. You will be in control at all times but feel very deeply relaxed. A session of hypnotherapy should leave you feeling clam, with a sense of well being and the ability to meet the challenges of daily life with confidence and inner strength.
My mind is always on the go, will
I be able to relax?
At first you may well be thinking 'is this working' or' am I being hypnotised?' and this is perfectly normal. There are many techniques used to induce hypnosis. I will be able to help your mind and body to settle so that you will be left feeling very comfortable, peaceful and relaxed.
Will I be in control and will I
You will be in totally in control. You may hear everything that is said to you and have total recall of the session, but it does not matter if you do not because you sub concious mind will be listening all the time.
Do I need to do anything to
prepare for my hypnotherapy?
All you need to have is a desire to be hypnotised and the ability to relax and follow instructions.
Can I be 'stuck' in hypnosis?
No, absolute not.
Can I be made to do anything against my will?
No, definitely not.
Is it safe for me to drive
Yes. You may be feeling very relaxed and contented but your reactions will return to normal immediately after the session concludes.
What happens during a
We will start by discussing the problem you are experiencing. I will then suggest the kind of treatment I would recommend. Depending on the problem, you may need just one session or several. Many conditions can be treated in just one session or several. I will also explain how hypnotherapy works and answer any questions that you may wish to ask about the treatment.
Can hypnosis help you
Hypnosis can achieve deep relaxation and lends itself very nicely to helping people relax.
While hypnotised you can learn to relax yourself very quickly, sometimes in only 10 to 20 seconds. We can do this by achieving deep relaxation or just to take the stress or anxiety out of a situation.
